We are currently recruiting for an Activities Assistant to work full time weekdays and every other weekend. The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting with the overall planning and implementation of a varied activity program designed to meet the physical, emotional, social, cognitive, recreational, education, community involvement and spiritual needs of Health Center members.

Full Time

The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation of food in an a la carte setting under the supervision of the Sous Chef. Under the supervision of the Executive Chef and the Sous Chef, a Line Cook is responsible for determining the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and see that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production, and plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved. . A Line Cook must be able to take direction from Lead Cook, Sous Chef, and Executive Chef as necessary

Full Time

Our Dishwashers are responsible for performing various kitchen cleaning and storage activities including but not limited to dish washing, pot washing, general and equipment cleaning, storage and rotation of food and supplies.

Part Time

Be part of the food team that makes sure our residents’ meals not only taste good, but are also good for them. Assist with preparing and serving food as well as cleaning equipment, utensils, and food service areas. You’ll enjoy getting to know our residents and they’ll certainly appreciate what you do for them.

Responsibilities include:  Prepare resident trays according to instructions/order; employ proper food handling techniques in preparation of food and setting up/serving trays; deliver food, nourishment and supplies to nursing units or other areas as assigned  Put stock in food storage areas and refrigerators as assigned  Clean, wash and sanitize dishes, silverware and utensils used to serve residents and others  Assist in maintaining the general cleanliness of the dish washing area; clean work area and equipment as assigned.

We are currently recruiting for part time Back Waits to join our Fine Dining team.

The Clubhouse Back Wait Staff is responsible for serving meals to Members in the casual, formal, bar, bistro and private dining rooms. Deliver meal to member’s homes. Assist in cleaning and resetting tables, pouring water and serving bread, provide support in the kitchen (stocking, running food, etc.) and breaking down trays at dish station. Previous experience in restaurant or retirement community food service preferred.

We are currently recruiting for full time and part time Wait Staff to join our Fine Dining team.

The Clubhouse Wait Staff is responsible for serving meals to Members in the casual, formal, bar, and private dining rooms. Provides food and beverage items as required. Serves meals in the dining rooms in compliance with Member preferences and orders. Monitors reception of meals and offers substitute food items for those not deemed satisfactory by members. Stocks items in kitchen, dining rooms, wait stations, kitchen wait station, and break room as necessary. Demonstrates the skills and techniques of fine dining service. Runs food independently and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

The CNA is responsible for assisting the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

We are currently recruiting for Certified Nursing Assistants to join our DuBose Health Center team. The Nurses Assistant assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. Provide nursing functions as directed by the Charge Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Director of Nursing.

Patient ratio is 1:7 for first and second shift

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a dedicated HR role required
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, or related field, or equivalent experience required
  • Proven ability to effectively and respectfully work with individuals at varying levels within an organization
  • Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Customer service experience a plus

The Cedars is seeking a professional and enthusiastic Bartender to provide an excellent Member experience. This is a full time position for a lunch/dinner shift to include both weekday and weekends. The hours will generally be 11:30am-8pm, but may vary as needed.

Responsibilities:

Take orders, provide service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Answer pertinent questions about drink items. Clear all tableware from tables and bar after service. Clean all glassware and dishes, including ashtrays, and distributes. Stock, restock, and rotate supplies. Prepare garnishes for bar use and snack trays. Maintain all documents necessary to accurately account for Member and guest charges. Assist supervisor with inventory of supplies. Will be responsible for the amount of alcohol a member is served regardless of transportation mode.

Requirements and skills:

  •  Proven working experience as a Bartender
  •  Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
  •  Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  •  Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean

FT Transportation Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a full time Social Worker and Admissions Coordinator for our DuBose Health Center.

The Social Worker & Admissions Coordinator is responsible for identifying and monitoring the psychosocial, mental, and emotional needs of the Health Center Members. The social worker will contribute to the care planning process to ensure these needs are met and maintained on an individual basis in accordance with Health Center policies and procedures and current Federal and State guidelines and regulations. The social worker will advocate for an environment that upholds Resident Rights and safely promotes the values of Member empowerment and self-determination. The position is also responsible for coordinating the admissions, transfers, and discharges of Health Center Members, along with maintaining positive relationships with community partners (i.e. Home Care, Hospice) and providing education to Independent Living Members. The ideal candidate should possess strong critical thinking and leadership skills, be able to work independently and collectively with a team, and have a passion for working with the aging population.

Bachelor’s degree in social work and experience in skilled nursing setting is required.

The Cedars of Chapel Hill Club, a 400 member premier retirement community has an opening for a Full Time Sous Chef. The Sous Chef is responsible for the proper preparation of the planned menu in the absence of the Executive Chef and assists in the supervision of all kitchen employees. Essential job functions include providing direction in the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef, food ordering, assisting in all stages of planning special events, and ensuring that each plate leaving the kitchen meets high presentation standards, is a quality product, and is properly portioned.

The Sous Chef should have at least five years of experience in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining experience. Culinary educational background is preferred as well as previous supervisor experience. The Sous Chef should have the ability to plan, organize work, and interpret instructions and recipes. Ideal candidate will have some knowledge of nutrition and diet as well as health care experience.
