The Cook is responsible for the cold preparation and assisting the Line Cooks in the preparation of all food items as per standardized recipes. Assist in food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved
The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation of food in an a la carte setting under the supervision of the Sous Chef. Under the supervision of the Executive Chef and the Sous Chef, a Line Cook is responsible for determining the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and see that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production, and plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved. . A Line Cook must be able to take direction from Lead Cook, Sous Chef, and Executive Chef as necessary.

The Cedars of Chapel Hill has an opening for a Director of Facility Services to direct the Environmental Services, Security, and Plant Maintenance Departments for our premier life plan community encompassing 47 acres and 306 luxury homes. The Director is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, and efficient operation of all aspects of the physical plant and for maintaining a safe and secure community. Position responsibilities include hiring, training and supervision of all personnel; budget creation and management; compliance with community policies and local, state, and federal regulations; controlling the quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness and timeliness of all services; providing superior customer service and maintaining excellent relations with residents. The Director is responsible for utilizing resources, problem solving and building relationships to ensure our Members (residents) successfully transition through the continuum of care. The Director will evaluate our Members’ needs and assist them in accessing the available resources needed to ensure a seamless transition between appropriate levels of care offered at the community. Additional responsibilities include coordination of current programs and development of future programs to meet wellness and healthcare needs while ensuring social integration into the community. The ultimate goal is to guide Members, family members and caregivers through successful health and wellness transitions. The Director also will facilitate communication with all key resources and stakeholders. Additionally the Director is responsible for oversight of the DuBose Health Center admissions process and supervision of the Social Worker.
Bachelor degree in Social Work, Gerontology or related field is required; MSW desirable. Three to five years of experience working in long term care, post-acute care or a related health care setting and organizational or management experience with an interdisciplinary approach to care preferable.

The Club House Wait Staff is responsible for serving meals to Members in the casual, formal, bar, and private dining rooms. Provides food and beverage items as required. Serves meals in the dining rooms in compliance with Member preferences and orders. Monitors reception of meals and offers substitute food items for those not deemed satisfactory by members. Stocks items in kitchen, dining rooms, wait stations, kitchen wait station, and break room as necessary. Demonstrates the skills and techniques of fine dining service. Runs food independently and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
