The Housekeeping Specialist is responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of assigned apartments and common areas. Health Center Cook : Listed May 05, 2017

The Cedars of Chapel Hill Club, a 400 resident/member premier retirement community has an opening for a Full Time Health Center Cook. The Cook is responsible for the preparation of all food items as per standardized recipes. The Cook also assists in food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved.

This is a full time position with 30 hours per week. The Cook will be working between the hours of 11 AM and 7PM.

 

Line Cook : Listed May 05, 2017

Full Time

The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation of all food served at a la carte services. The Line Cook plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved. The Line Cook is responsible for determining the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and see that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.Must be able to take direction from Lead Cook and Sous Chef as necessary.

Qualifications include:

  • Cooking experience in roasting, braising ; sauté and grill a must, knowledge of soups, sauces are also required.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
  • Three to five years experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.

The Cedars of Chapel Hill, an upscale retirement community is currently seeking Health Center Dietary Aide. The Health Center Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health center Members in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus. Prepare therapeutic food items as required. Serve meals in the health center in compliance with Member preferences and diet orders. Serve room delivery trays. Monitor acceptance of meals and offer substitute food items for those not well consumed. Assist with tray set-up for Members during all meals. Prepare both health center dining rooms for service, and break down after meals for 3 meals a day. Wash all dishes and pots after each meal and as necessary throughout the shift. Stock items in kitchen, dining rooms, nourishment room, and break room as necessary. Distribute and assist Members in the completion of weekly menus. Complete daily menus for kitchen use in a thorough, timely and accurate manner. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
