Give The Cedars a test drive

Kathy grew up in Chapel Hill as the child of a professor. She graduated from UNC, making her a hometown girl. After a brief sojourn to California, she returned to raise her family in Chapel Hill. Kathy married a History Professor so her life became a balance of raising daughters and fulfilling the responsibilities of the Department Chairman’s wife.
Now as a widow in Chapel Hill with grown children and grandchildren, Kathy is exploring options for the next phase of her life. A friend suggested she consider The Cedars of Chapel Hill as a possibility. Kathy was looking for a community where
the residents are regaining their youthful joy in their retirement.
After attending a luncheon at The Cedars, Kathy wanted to experience the retirement community lifestyle to see if it would be a good fit for her.
In the spring Kathy spent a week living at The Cedars, socializing with Members and soaking up the ambiance. She was very happy to find the people she met were interesting, friendly and engaged in discussions about current issues in today’s world. The Cedars’ Members were especially helpful and kind and were very open to making new friends. The Cedars will offer Kathy the freedom to explore her interests and so many of them are located right on campus. As a self described “picky eater,” Kathy found the food at The Cedars varied and delicious. The setting of The Cedars felt very soothing, calming and comforting to her.
Kathy knows that moving to The Cedars will be a gift to her children because they know that their mother will be safe and happy. It’s impossible to overestimate the peace of mind that moving to The Cedars will bring to her family.
Kathy plans to move to The Cedars in the fall.
